An accelerator engineer inspects the FRIB Single Event Effects (FSEE) beamline. The FSEE facility is available for proprietary research at full cost recovery. FSEE provides users energetic and penetrating heavy-ion beams to measure the response of electronic components to environmental radiation fields.
The FSEE beamline is located in FRIB’s linear accelerator tunnel. The beamline utilizes large electromagnets to steer, focus, and shape the ion beam before delivery to users.
